Mokveld delivers valves for Shell Prelude

Mokveld Valves BV, located in Gouda, The Netherlands delivers the critical choke valves for the SBM Offshore designed turret of the Shell Prelude Floating LNG project. The angle choke valves that have been delivered for this project are the largest Mokveld has ever produced.

It is expected that winning and liquefying gas from the estimated 85 billion m3 large Prelude gas field will start in 2017.

For the first phase Mokveld supplies four large 14" angle choke valves, four small 3" angle choke (de)compression valves and another twelve check valves (8 x 16" and 4 x 8"). In particular, the 14" Norsok qualified ASME class 2500 angle choke valves with very complex specifications had an extensive test regime. The state-of-the-art testing facilities at Mokveld made it possible that the valves could be tested at extreme conditions.
