Mokveld is official partner of World Engineering Day 2025

World Engineering Day (WED) is a collaboration of UNESCO and the World Federation of Engineering Organisations (WFEO) and is on 4 March every year. The aim of the day is to highlight the work of engineers worldwide and increase public understanding of the importance of engineering and technology.

UNESCO has also labelled the day as World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development, linking engineering to UNESCO's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Many of these goals have material issues to be developed or made by engineers in the broadest sense.

As it is an anniversary year (80 years of UNESCO and 10 years of SDGs), UNESCO and WFEO will focus on World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development throughout the year. This year's theme is ‘shaping our sustainable future through engineering’. The basis of the campaign are video interviews with 80 industrial companies from around the world, which are actively implementing sustainability in their policies and thus including Mokveld. For the coming year Mokveld may call itself official partner of WED.

Mokveld strongly believes the world’s energy, water and material demand can be met in a sustainable way, with a responsible and environmentally safe use of our planet’s resources. Mokveld aims to be technology leader since 1922 and has always been committed to improving its products, resulting in valves that reduce noise and emissions or increase safety.

We take our leadership role seriously with our Research & Development for sustainability. This resulted for instance in products such as our HIPPS, which prevents flaring, but also the Zero Emission Valve; a valve design that eliminates fugitive emissions, leakage or unintentional losses over the lifetime of the valve.
